The line ahead
Taken in the yard of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway at Oxenhope in between snow falls.
This is where they try to bring back to a working life the abandoned carriages, coaches and engines from the age of steam.
This is the end point of the line from Keighley and well worth a visit, if you love steam and really great real ale, then this is the place for you.
The hills in the background lead into Howarth of Bronte fame.
“Over the years, the Railway has appeared in many TV and film productions including Yanks, Sherlock Holmes, Last of the Summer Wine, Treasure Hunt, Sons and Lovers, Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em, Poirot, Born and Bred, The Royal, Where The Heart Is, A Touch Of Frost, Songs Of Praise, and Pink Floyd’s The Wall.
The Railway is perhaps most famous for its role in the 1970 film version of Edith Nesbit’s story The Railway Children”, taken from their website
